Pozible has become Australia’s premier crowdfunding platform and the third worldwide in just three years. Co-founder Rick Chen attributes this stellar growth to Australians’ generosity, our gaming culture and our love of arts and culture.
In this interview with 4ZZZ reporter Shirley Way, Rick shares his thoughts on the success of Pozible, the legal landscape of crowdfunding, and, what’s next for Pozible.
For the uninitiated, crowdfunding platforms enable individuals, groups and organisations to raise money online within 60 days to a specified target. Only if pledges reach the minimum target will donors be required to pay. In exchange for donations, fundraisers offer non-financial rewards: e.g. the donor’s name on an album cover, a complimentary CD, a VIP meet-and-greet experience with the band.
The Edge, State Library of Queensland, will soon release details of Pozible crowdfunding workshops in August-September, 2013 – http://edgeqld.org.au
